Strengthen Communities

Addiction shouldn’t crush dreams.

Job Skills & Vocational Training

Substance abuse disorders are inextricably linked to unemployment: nearly twice as many people who are unemployed struggle with addiction than those with full-time jobs. And although addiction affects people from all walks of life, those who did not finish high school have a much greater likelihood of having a substance abuse disorder.

Since many of our clients have not had formal access to academic or career training, they are at an exceptional disadvantage by not having the tools, skills and resources to find work that allows them to be self-sufficient. House of Hope is committed to providing these clients not only with the treatment to achieve recovery but also with those critical education and economic opportunities previously unavailable to them.

By employing two full-time Employment Specialists we will help the men and women at House of Hope overcome their substance abuse challenges and avoid homelessness by providing one-on-one and group job skills coaching, workforce preparation, vocational training, and GED preparation.

GED® & Higher Education

Although addiction affects people from all walks of life, those who did not finish high school have a much greater likelihood of having a substance abuse disorder. Now with an on-site Broward County Schools led GED program, House of Hope can ensure that residential clients who do not possess a high-school diploma can now receive one. By providing clients with formal educational preparation combined with job skills training and workforce placement assistance we are meeting the needs of a unique population.

What’s more, our partnership with local Colleges offer clients with the desire to take their education further a clear path forward.
